This is essential for encouraging commercial partners to invest
in or license the technology. Please note that we do not fund
research as such; our funds are for demonstrating commercial
feasibility, based on established research.
The Proof of Concept strategy will vary for each technology
but quite often a product-like embodiment is needed. To support
this i2india has a range of programmes and access to a number
of sources of funding.
Through our various partners, we have the ability to design
prototypes (e.g. with Johnson and Johnson we have funding
to develop medical devices). We have access to further funding
and expertise through the Higher Education Fund, London Development
Agency and Sharpoorji Pallonnji & Co. Ltd to demonstrate
the performance of a technology to industry.
